Two British teenagers charged with cooperating with Lapsus$ have been released on bail after appearing in court at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court.

The 16- and 17-year-old boys have been charged following an international investigation into members of the hacking group, according to Detective Michael O’Sullivan of the City of London Police Department.

Carlton was charged with three counts of unauthorized access to a computer with the intent to undermine data reliability, one count of fraud by false representation and one count of unauthorized access to a computer with the intent to prevent access to data

The 16-year-old was also charged with one count of causing a computer to perform functions to secure unauthorized access to a program.

Links them to the Lapsus$ group and states that they were released on bail “with certain conditions”

Lapsus$ has been in the news lately because it has attacked prominent tech companies around the world, including Microsoft, Nvidia, Samsung, Okta, and Ubisoft, many of which have caused massive data breaches

Most of the Lapsus$ members are believed to be teenagers who are motivated not by financial motives but by the goal of making a name for themselves in the hacking scene.

It is not yet known how many active members this group has and what role each plays, but from the telegram chats, which seem to suggest that they speak multiple languages, including English, Russian, Turkish, German, and Portuguese, it is believed that they have collaborators around the world It seems that the company is in the process of developing a new product.
